Vegan Fried Fish (Banana Blossom)

Vegan Fried Fish with Oven Roasted Red Potatoes Avocado and Calaloo

What can I say. The choices for vegans just keep getting better and better. I would never have thought I would be able to enjoy unprocessed vegan fish. This recipe is delicious. Banana blossom once seasoned battered and fried taste just like fish. Serve with your favorite sides or fish and chips with tartar sauce. This recipe is a must try!!!!

1 can banana blossom ( about 3 to 4 banana blossoms)

1 cup tempura flour

1/2 cup cold water

Furikake

old bay seasoning

Grapeseed oil for frying

On medium heat in a dutch oven add grapeseed oil.

Remove banana blossom from can and pat dry with paper towel. Season the banana blossom on both sides with old bay seasoning and furikake set aside.

In a mixing bowl add tempura flour, water, old bay and furikake season to taste. Mix to combine. The mixture should be that of thin cake batter. Dip the seasoned banana blossom in the batter coating both sides. Place the battered banana blossom in the hot oil. Fry the banana blossom to a golden brown on both sides. Place cooked vegan fish on a plate lined with paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Serve with your favor sides or vegan tartar sauce.

Enjoy!
