Carrot Dog
Carrot Dogs with Baked Beans
If you love hot dogs this is the recipe for you. I know the idea of a carrot tasting like a hog dog sounds crazy, believe me I felt the same before trying these Carrot Dogs. Now I’m hooked!!!! The taste defines summer time without the worry of fat and calories. Surprise your hard to please friends and family. I guarantee they’ll be quit mad they fell in love with this dog.
4 medium Carrots
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup liquid aminos
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp liquid smoke
Bring a large pot of water to a boil on medium heat. Use a knife to remove the tops and the thinest part of the carrot bottoms. Then use a potato peeler to peel the thin layer of skin from the carrot. You may also use the potato peeler to create a more rounded shape on either end of the carrot. It will give the carrot a more familiar hot dog shape. Place the carrot dog in the boiling water and cook for 12 to 15 minutes. Use a fork to check the tenderness of the cooked carrot. The fork should be able to pierce the carrot, while the carrot should still have firmness.
In a glass container with a covered lid add all of the rest of your ingredients. Stir ingredients to combine. Place the cooked carrots dogs in the marinate, cover and store in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours.
Once the carrot dogs are marinated you can fry, grill or even place in the air fryer.
Serve with your favorite toppings.
Enjoy!
