Ginger Sesame Tofu

This Sesame Tofu recipe is tender and delicious with Asian flavors of garlic and ginger. This dish is perfect served over rice. Tender pieces of tofu is air fried until golden brown. The sauce is slightly sweet and sticky from the agave. Sesame flavor comes from both sesame oil and sesame seeds. You’ll love this quick and easy air fried tofu recipe coated in a thick slightly sweet and full of warm ginger flavor. There is something about Asian inspired dishes that are naturally satisfying and comforting. This is one of them.

1 package extra firm tofu *(pressed)

2 tbsp sesame seeds toasted

1 tsp tahini

1 tsp sesame oil

2 tbsp minced garlic

2 tsp grated ginger root

3 tbsp liquid aminos or soy sauce

2 tbsp agave

1 cup water

1 tbsp grapeseed oil

2 tbsp cornstarch

1/4 cup red bell pepper cut in 1/2 inch squares

1/4 yellow onion cut in squares

Cut pressed tofu into cubes. Place in a bowl add grapeseed oil and lightly combine. Add 1 tbsp cornstarch and toss to coat tofu. Place tofu in air fryer and cook on 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until browned.

In a bowl place sesame seeds, tahini, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, liquid aminos, and agave. Stir to combine, set aside. In a small bowl mix water and remaining 1 tbsp cornstarch, set aside.

Heat a wok or skillet on medium high heat. Add peppers and onions, cook about 2 minutes, add cooked tofu, ginger sesame sauce and cornstarch mixture. The sauce will start to thicken quickly remove from heat. Serve immediately.

Garnish with chopped green onions.
